The beautiful islands really do offer something for everyone and for all ages. For the younger children in the family, the beach is the perfect location. The water is perfect for swimming, and the soft beaches are perfect for running up and down where the surf meets the land. When the children grow tired of playing in the water, parents can help their children in one of the most beloved beach pastimes: sand castle building.

Of course, the older kids and all the young at heart may crave more excitement. Once again, the Bahamas has what they are looking for. Younger vacationers can opt to rent jet skis or kayaks to tour the waters, or they may even spend their days para-sailing. There are plenty of ways to have fun exploring the islands and their surrounding waters. While the kids are out exploring, there is plenty of mom and dad to do, as well. For mom, many salons and spas offer unique treatments that incorporate exotic elements of the Bahamas. While mom is getting pampered, dad can enjoy the numerous golf courses, including 2 championships golf courses and the Jim McLean Golf School at Lucaya Beach. When the family is ready to come together for some time together, the beautiful scenery, daring waterslides, fantastic shopping, and wonderful restaurants help make lasting memories.

Even though the Bahamas may not be the first location that comes to mind when thinking about planning a family vacation, it should certainly make the list. Offering activities for every age, the islands are surely a place that no family could forget.

About the Author

Bahamas Vacations Info provides detailed information on Bahamas vacation packages, rentals, family vacations, resorts, villas, ranging from cheap vacations to upscale retreats. And there is a good reason why that is so.

Daytona Beach is fast becoming recognized, not for its beaches and unsurpassed nightlife, but for the fun that it offers on the green. In fact, Daytona Beach is so interconnected with this sport, that it is rapidly becoming known as Florida's golf capital and is the new home of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), which recently moved their headquarters to Daytona from Texas.

Boasting of more than 30 golf courses including 20 championship golf courses, one could view Daytona as a sea of green and a golfer's paradise. From beginner courses to advanced courses, Daytona's golfing scene has an attraction for every golfing enthusiast no matter what his or her experience level.

Daytona's championship golf courses line the 23-mile expanse of the Daytona Beach coastline. With temperatures averaging little more than 70 degrees, Daytona's golf courses are ideal for spending an entire day on the green. And with great restaurants, resorts and area attractions nearby, a golfing vacation to Daytona is one that the whole family can enjoy.

One of the most popular golfing spots of the Daytona Beach area is Pelican Bay. This 18-hole champion golf course, designed by Lloyd Clifton, winds through a wilderness area complete with a series of water canals and lakes. This course is also visited often by area wildlife so you may just find yourself enjoying more than a relaxing round of golf under the Florida sun.

Another popular course among golfers is the Spruce Creek Country Club. Consisting of nearly 7,000 yards of fairways, lakes and greens, the Spruce Creek Country Club's course, designed by Bill Amick, sports 18 holes and perfectly manicured grounds.

And golfing at one of the more than 30 golf courses in the Daytona Beach is very affordable when it's not free. That's right, free. During the months of May through October, Daytona hosts a free golfing program where you can golf for free on many of the premier courses in the Daytona Beach area. This program is sponsored by the Golf Daytona Beach organization and is a favorite among die-hard golfers because greens fees can really add up if you golf everyday. The program works like this: If you stay at a participating hotel for two or more consecutive nights, you'll get a free round of golf for each day of your stay. You must play after noon, and cart fees are extra, but with greens fees averaging $30 per day, the free golf program is an exceptional deal.

While golfing for free everyday would be nice, it's not always possible. Some actually have to pay to play a round of golf. But when you have to pay in Daytona, it is more affordable than what you might think. With more than 20 champion golf courses designed by pros such as Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Arthur Hills, Rees Jones and Lloyd Clifton, you might expect to pay an arm and a leg to golf these exceptional courses. But in fact, many offer very affordable rates, and when combined with accommodations packages, you can save an unbelievable amount of money.

You can even golf one of two premier courses of the LPGA for a reasonable price. One of those courses is known as The Champions Course and is the site of the prestigious LPGA Mercury Titleholders event. The second course, The Legends, just opened for public play last October. The LPGA facility also features a teaching academy with practice holes, greens and a driving range.

In addition to all of the great golfing to be had in the Daytona, Florida area, there are beaches, shops, fine restaurants, museums, attractions and entertainment galore. And who could forget that Disney World is less than an hour away. So, if you are looking for a dream vacation getaway for your family and a relaxing week of golf for yourself, Daytona may be just the spot to make all of your vacation dreams come true.

About The Author

Rose Lenk

For more articles and info about Florida visit www.Access-Florida.com.

Fantasy Villa of Jamaica

by Ridho Herasmara

So, for some fantasy travel, you rented a villa for your very Jamaican vacation. Located in the Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee, Gatlinburg sits at the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. At the foot of Mt. LeConte, Gatlinburg is only a short walk from streams, woods, and mountains.

Cabins have a special tradition in Gatlinburg. The first cabin was built by the Ogle family in 1802 and is now open to all visitors. Some cabins in Gatlinburg hark back to earliest days of frontier settlers. These wooden cabins evoke a rustic connection with American history and the beautiful natural environment.

There are thousands of cabins to choose from. Although the predominant style is the traditional log cabin, other styles range from Swiss chalets to upscale modern wooden condominiums. Gatlinburg also offers various hotel and motel opportunities, geared both towards families and conference attendees.

Originally founded in the early 1800s as White Oaks, Gatlinburg was just a sleepy residential town until the growth of its lumber industry in the early 1900s. The creation of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in 1934 added to the demand for visitor services. Gatlinburg was officially incorporated in 1945 and has since become a premier four-season vacation destination.

In recent years Gatlinburg has become even more popular as both a vacation spot for families and a romantic getaway for lovers. Ideally located, Gatlinburg is within a day’s drive for fifty percent of American citizens. Vacation options include single and double occupancies, larger family-oriented plans, and exclusive wedding and honeymoon packages.

In addition to vacation rentals, there are also many opportunities to purchase a Gatlinburg cabin. Ownership of rental real estate is an advantageous method for generating supplemental income and long-term financial independence. And as the real estate market continues to boom, a tucked-away cabin in Gatlinburg becomes a valuable asset.

About the Author

Gatlinburg Cabins Info provides information on Gatlinburg cabins, Gatlinburg cabin rentals, properties for sale, weddings and related topics. In this article, we take a look at Lisbon, Lagos and the Algarve.

Lisbon

Lisbon is the biggest city in Portugal and is located on the Atlantic coast in middle of the country. I've been to Lisbon three times, but only for a few days each time. Every time I come away with the impression of elegance.

Arriving by train, your first taste of Lisbon is when you walk out of the train station directly onto the shore of the harbor. As you look to the ocean, the name "San Francisco" immediately comes to mind. Mountains rise up on both sides of the mouth of the harbor and then there is the bridge. Running across the mouth of bay is a bridge that looks for all intensive purposes like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I've never had a chance to research it, but there has to be a connection.

As you walk into Lisbon, everything is clean and relaxed. There are walking only streets with cafes and garden areas. Bringing to mind San Francisco again, there are cable cars running though the center of the city. I can't tell you why, but Lisbon is a very low stress city on both the mind and the wallet. Yep, it is cheap and a good destination for budget travelers.

Algarve

The Algarve is the southwestern tip of Portugal and borders on both the Atlantic and Mediterranean oceans. This is an interpretation on my part as some feel the area only covers the beaches on the Mediterranean Ocean. Regardless, the Algarve is a collection of beach towns that remind me of Southern California in the 1940's. No I am not that old. I am just relying on family stories and pictures. Jeez, give me some credit! One of the highlights of the Algarve is Lagos.

Lagos

I grew up in San Diego, California. It's a great place to be a kid and an adult. The only complaint I have is a lot of people seem to feel the same way. The population has exploded beyond belief, freeways are crowded on weekends and housing prices average roughly $500,000 for a deluxe closet without driveway. Its still nice, but I've begun to think about relocating. If I do, Lagos may be my destination.

Lagos is a sleepy beach community with just about anything you could want in paradise. White beaches, private beaches, grottos, wine growing, a lively nightlife, modern conveniences and just about the nicest people you have ever met in your life.

You can stay in a hotel while in Lagos, but this is a mistake in my opinion. Instead, go to the train station and reserve a room with a family. Families in cities all over the world do this, but Lagos is different. The family you stay with more or less adopts you as one of their own. They will haul you all over town, introduce you to other locals and generally give you a true taste of Portugal. For veteran travelers, nothing could be better.

Rating

For an overall rating, I give Portugal and Lagos the highest rating of "bar." I loved it so much, I wanted to stay and almost purchased a bar by blackmailing, bribing and begging a friend in California over the phone. Alas, his wife didn't think it was such a good idea.

Hey, how about you? We could probably still get a good deal! No, seriously.

About the Author

Rick Chapo is with http://www.nomadjournals.com - makers of travel journals. Imagine a wooden platform covered with silver and gold, weighting over a ton. Imagine a procession of hundreds of thousands of devotees, all dressed in purple habits. If you can, you've probably been in Lima during October, the mystical month. That's when the city's patron, the Señor de los Milagros -or Lord of Miracles-, is celebrated. The largest procession in the whole South America, it congregates devotees from all over the country.

The origins of the Lord of Miracles date back to the mid XVII century (probably between 1650 and 1651), during the Spanish Viceroyalty. An anonymous Angolan slave painted a dark-skinned Christ on the wall of a humble plot in the Pachacamilla ranch, near Lima. At the time a non-white Christ was considered heretic, but notwithstanding the furious attempts by the Spanish ecclesiastical hierarchy to erase it, the image resisted. The devotion for the image boosted in 1655, when a massive earthquake demolished every building in the proximities, but not that wall.

During the whole month of October, known as the mes morado -or purple month, due to the Patron's colours- minor observations are celebrated. The main event though, a colossal procession, is reserved for the 18th. Hundreds of thousands of devotees, wearing their purple habits, sing and pray while accompanying the image on its 24-hour route from the Nazarenas temple to La Merced church, in the historic yet weary Barrios Altos district.

The wooden portable platform that holds the image is completely covered with silver and gold, and weights more than a ton. It is carried out on shoulders by groups of loaders, organized in cuadrillas (teams) according to shoulder size and height. Nowadays there are 20 cuadrillas, such as the "Pachacamilla Christ Brotherhood" or the "Loaders of the Canopy". During the first procession, some 300 years ago, only eight loaders were needed to hold the platform; today, more than thirty strong men are needed.

Traditional sweets and food can be purchased from vendors along the path of the procession, in particular the Turrón de Doña Pepa, a soft nougat candy made almost only during October.

Bullfighting Season
During October and November, the Señor de los Milagros bullfighting season takes place in Lima's Plaza de Acho (1768), one of the oldest bullrings in the Americas. Known as the Feria Taurina del Señor de los Milagros, it gathers the most prestigious bullfighters of America and Spain, who compete for the Escapulario de Oro (golden scapular).

This year the traditional bullfighting season celebrates its 60th anniversary, and celebrates it with eight dates: four bullfights, one rejoneo (bullfights from horse-back), two novilladas (bullfights with young bulls), and a gala festival. Some 10 renowned matadors will participate, including Julián López "El Juli", Enrique Ponce, Luis Francisco Esplá, and Finito de Córdoba.

About the Author

Journalist, impenitent traveller, and aficionado cook, Ferrer is founder of The Peru Guide, and its Lima Restaurant and Nightlife editor.

Switzerland - Interlaken, Zurich, St. Moritz and Geneva

by Rick Chapo

Switzerland is the land of skiing, chocolate and very private banking. Ah, but there is so much more to experience in the land of neutrality.

Interlaken

Interlaken gets its highly creative name from sitting on the split of land between two lakes. If you're looking for a little extreme sporting, this is place. You can backpack, horseback ride, parasail and so on. To really take in the majesty of the alps, I highly recommend you cough up the money for a go at skydiving. You may have gone ski diving before, but I guarantee you nothing compares to free falling down through the mountains of Switzerland. This is how God must feel looking down at the earth. While God gets the view for free, you will have to pay...a lot. Still, the view and experience is something you will never forget.

Zurich

Zurich is the cleanest city in Switzerland, Europe and maybe the world. There place simply sparkles. Various guide books challenge readers to find a cigarette butt or piece of trash on the sparkling streets. Personally, I find the cleanliness of the city a bit of a negative. Stop rolling your eyes. The place is simply so clean that it seems to lack any real character. One keeps getting the feeling you are walking around a Disneyland Park. The budget traveler should be aware that Zurich is more expensive than even Disneyland.

St. Moritz

If you're looking for the arrogant rich, over the top luxury and incredibly expensive prices, St. Moritz is for you. Not really my crowd, so on to the next city...

Geneva

Geneva is not "just another" clean city in Switzerland. Okay, it looks like it at first and second glance, but the third glance may prove a delight. With cobble stone streets, the city reminds one of the stereotypical Swiss images in the media. In reality, Geneva has a bustling underground of live music, art and general fun. Four aspirin and two bottles of water later, I can certainly attest to it. The only way to let your hair down in Geneva is to buddy up to a local and follow their lead. Trust me, you'll have a blast.

Switzerland often seems a bit too good to be true. Perhaps it truly is a mountain mirage. Guess you'll just have to visit to do your own investigation!

About the Author

Rick Chapo is with http://www.nomadjournals.com - makers of travel journals. The legend, actually lived up to a myth that still existed until nowadays.

For days, people live a peaceful life, away from the rush of the urban, nor the industrialization. Up until one day, a men and a woman from the city came with their new idea of modern-day-living.

For people who interested in something new, this idea does affected them much. An avalanche swallow much people, women and children. Nowadays, people believe and will always remember with the famous "Messenger of Pacet"

The myth does makes sense, as it happens. Just don't forget that it is a "fantasy spot" as you might be able to met the messenger 'personally' (some people said they actually met the messenger).

See it yourself!

................
About the author
................
Niel Situmorang, programmer whose hobby to travel with bike, visit various place with legend. Bring back memory, it is you who can travel across time. For those who don't have memory about that period, then create a new everlasting ones!

Today, there are so many places to visit. But, why don't make your journey worth remembering, for a lifetime?

The city of Malang represent the old Indonesian, the colonial period. All of it, from city planning, the "Oen", Brawijaya museum, and even "Coban Perawan" (which literally translate as "Waterfall of the Virgin").

Then if you tired of staying in a hotel, doing a time-scheduled-tourism-package, why don't ask for the local to guide you on a personal journey, or maybe with your beloved ones, only two of you, across time.

Some of the list are:
"Oen" : a shop, a colonial shop protected by goverment law against change, is where you should start your journey.

"Coban Perawan" : Literally translate as "Waterfall of the Virgin", doesn't mean you must still virgin to be allowed here.. But it will remind the time where the "Virgin" live.

"Brawijaya museum" : is not a mausoleum! You won't be bored to death here, as it display every reason why the Indonesian deserve their independence.

But most of all, some still live in colonial age, although many switched to urban-lifestyle. It doesn't matter what lifestyle.. just say "Hi" to them, you'd expect smile for the least.

................
About the author
................

As a consultant, he usually spend time travelling as his hobby, as well as writing article.

Don't Settle for an Ordinary Vacation -- Go for Extraordinary

by Dan Farrell

Copyright 2005 MHG Consulting

You work hard all year long, and look forward to your vacation. So why settle for ordinary, when you could do something different this year and create memories that really will last a lifetime?

Today there are so many more choices than just taking a regular cruise or guided tour. If you're willing to think outside the box, and put a little effort into planning it, your vacation can be extraordinary.

First of all, think about your interests or passions. Is there something that you've always wanted to do like learn to paint, try skydiving, or scuba diving?

What about some place that you've always wanted to visit like Venice, Paris or Tahiti?

What do you love to do in your spare time...visit art galleries, read or go to flea markets?

If you've always wanted to be a painter, why not choose Paris? But instead of staying in a hotel, and making the rounds of the usual tourist attractions, check into renting a flat or participating in a housing exchange program. (You can find several reliable companies on the Internet.) On the money you'll save on the hotel and restaurants, sign up for art classes at one of the cultural centers near where you'll be staying. And instead of signing up for a guided tour, visit the tourist attractions with your paints and easel. Live the life of an artist in Paris for two weeks!

Interested in living dangerously? You can find several adventure programs that are created around the extreme sports you're most interested in -- such as skydiving, white water rafting or rock climbing -- and they are available almost everywhere in the world -- from Africa to Istanbul to the Arctic Circle.

Want to do more than lay around on a tropical beach and work on your tan? What about visiting another country and helping to build a home for a low-income family? Rebuilding a community after a natural disaster? Or working with orphans in a third-world country? Check with your local United Way or faith-based organization. Many nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity or the Red Cross organize special trips for people who want to make a difference.

Or, if you've always wondered what Green Peace Volunteers do or wanted to work on a scientific exhibition digging up fossils or exploring the ocean, why not give them a call, to see if you could spend your vacation as a working volunteer?

What about learning a foreign language? (Your local community college probably offers "immersion" vacations as a member of a language class. During your vacation, you stay as a guest in someone's home, and have the opportunity to live like a native. You'll become totally immersed in the country of your choice, having the chance to speak the language with your hosts, learn the best places to visit, and getting to eat home cooked meals.)

If you have an idea for the "perfect" vacation, or there's something you've always wanted to do, but don't know where to start to make it happen, call your local travel agent.
